I'm a co-founder of Design Objective, Trinidad's first and only professional graphic design organisation, focused on workshops, talks, membership and improving the wider Caribbean's design landscape. I took lead on the development of DO's identity and the first round of its website design. I'm currently working on the second release of a more powerful website that can manage our new membership and events databases. I also share responsibility for promotional and event design.
Crispy Solutions deploys high-end web and mobile services, and needed to find a way to distinguish themselves from the (very saturated) market of general-service website and app developers. I developed a custom variable font for this project (aptly called CRISPY), and worked using Python and Drawbot to produce iterations for animation, and to produce individualised, random-instance business cards with dynamically-generated wordmarks. I'm currently working on their website, which makes use of the font's width axes in ways that aren't possible with print.
West Indian Legal is a web service that aims to provide Caribbean diaspora with legal services in and across the Caribbean islands. My work on this includes identity design and the product design of their web and mobile apps. We are currently still developing wireframes and quick design iterations, using the Design Studio methodology to best sync user needs and business goals.
Editorial design, art direction and custom type design for The St. Kitts and Nevis Citizen, a government-published magazine aimed and increasing citizenship-by-investment. Special highlights on this project included the direction of photography and creation of custom typographic elements inspired by Kittitian colonial-style architecture.
Caribbean Mental Health Foundation
Identity and website design for the Caribbean Mental Health Foundation, a recently-formed organisation operating between public and private sector interests, toward the improvement of mental health services and attitudes in Trinidad and the wider Caribbean. This was my first project rolled out completely with Python in Drawbot, and at the end of the project, the client will have an executable bit of software with which they can produce their own brand materials (that's still in progress).
Identity for a full-service, high-end music production studio in Trinidad. Special emphasis was made to reflect a dynamic company that could respond to any kind of work —especially important in Trinidad, a country dominated by genre-specific production studios.
Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business recently created an undergraduate programme, and since they recently rebranded, needed a way to represent this without shifting their existing positioning as the best place for an Executive MBA in the region. I managed the creative direction and design both the visual and verbal aspects of this campaign pitch for Pepper, a local Advertising Agency.
15 days of Posters
This was a self-directed project, with the assignment to create 15 visually engaging typographically-driven posters to promote a fake event, the Annual Introverts' Convention. I created this challenge both to raise my Instagram followers and to challenge myself on a deadline; I'd just created my account and needed a strategy to quickly increase my levels of online engagement.
While working at Abovegroup, I led the UX/UI design and work flow for UWI Connect, an alumni app for the University of the West Indies. This was the first opportunity to use a lot of the Design Studio methodology and its takeaways that I currently apply in my current work, both with digital solutions and for branding.
While at Abovegroup, I led the design for Seeking Amani – a school-based workshop in Tanzania that helps children to gain a deeper understanding of themselves, their community and the wider environment.
