I'm Agyei, and I work in fonts.

I spent the last 12 years designing fonts, tools, and communications for companies including Google, Meta, and Viacom, before building and scaling technology teams and solutions that served tens of thousands across the post-COVID Caribbean. I now use that experience to help designers and foundries think more clearly about markets, customers, positioning, and long-term sustainability.

My methods may be mysterious, but the goal is simple: to help fonts travel further, land better, and support the people who make and use them, especially designers and communities in the Global South. I'm interested in how creative businesses can be structured to be more equitable, and I treat business as a practical tool for helping creative people continue doing what they love, rather than an end in itself.

I've spoken internationally on type and culture, including at TEDx, ATypI, and TypeCon, served as a judge for the TDC Awards and Young Guns, and received multiple awards for design, entrepreneurship, and business leadership. On Substack, I write commentary on design and design culture, focusing on industry, power, and access.

Most of my time these days is spent working on my own fonts (like the one you're reading) or working with TypeTogether, but I'm open to collaborations, project-based leadership roles, and consulting with foundries and creative teams who want to make their font business more human—and more profitable.
